Been a while since the last update, huh?
Not much to update on though, life is good so there is no need for emo rants or anything, but I've been seeing some cool (and not so cool movies), so I thought I'd let you know about that, at least.

I finally got around to seeing Pan's Labyrinth, and I thought it was fantastic! Much darker than I expected, but the visuals were great, the acting too, the story was fascinating and very well-layered. I enjoyed it immensely and definitely recommend it. I know some of you are probably not used to seeing subtitled movies, but don't let that put you off, because you'll be missing out if you don't see this. It will stick with you.

Another subtitled recommendation is [REC], coming from Spain. I saw this last weekend and it was very good. Extremely moody, and creepy in its apparent reality (it's made in the style of Blair Witch, Cloverfield, Diary of the Dead...) it's sure to give you some scares. I know a Hollywood remake has already been made, but I believe you should go for the original source material - especially because it's a quality horror movie, which is something you don't see a lot of these days.

Last but not least, I recommend Dan in Real Life. The trailer made it look kind of silly, but the movie is actually pretty good - heartwarming, funny, and with good interpretations, especially by Steve Carrel. Sondre Lerche was in charge of the soundtrack, and he did a beautiful work!

Now, for the bad movies - I'd recommend you stay away from Awake and Death Sentence. Especially Awake.

I saw a classic BAD movie also - Manos, The Hands of Fate. Anyone else saw it? That movie is incredible in its badness! The characters are all stupid (and some of them totally pointless), the actors are terrible, the editing is awful, I don't even know... I have to say some bits made me laugh, though.

And in the asian movie section, I saw Wild Zero, that is simultaneously one of the best/worst zombie movies I've ever seen. The craziest things happen in this movie, you have to see it to believe it
